FEV is looking for a Vehicle Systems Design & Release Engineer responsible for design and release of passenger, commercial, off-highway, and military vehicle systems. There will be a considerable level of interaction with the component suppliers to ensure required technical content of the systems.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design and release activities for various vehicle systems from requirements definition to production release
  • Direct the efforts of design personnel
  • Create and maintain engineering and quality documentation
  • Oversee prototype builds
  • Track all system virtual and physical validation activities
Requirements:
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • BSME or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience required in design and production release of vehicle systems for passenger, commercial, off-highway, or military vehicles
  • Experience with the design of chassis and/or powertrain integration components and systems
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T principles
  • Experience conducting assembly level dimensional tolerance stack-up calculations
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Specific experience managing supplier quality, cost, and timing
  • Experience generating quality documentation such as FMEA, DVP&R, etc.
  • Must be a highly motivated team player with excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teamcenter PDM experience
  • Design experience with various CAD platforms
  • Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Experience developing engineering test specifications
  • Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating design and/or production validation testing (experience using reliability methods a plus)
  • Ability to interpret test data to support product validation
  • Understanding of CAE procedures
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills using Design of Experiments (DOE), 8D, etc.
