Catering Server

Meriwether Godsey is looking for Full-time Catering Server; individuals who enjoy providing our guests with the finest food and drink, accompanied by an attentive and positive attitude at Hollins University. This role will also assist with food preparation and customer service in the kitchen, servery, and dining hall.   

• Must be available to work Full-time as follows: mornings, nights, and weekends.  
• Pay rate: $16.25 per hour 
  

What you will do: 

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.  
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area to facilitate workflows and minimize safety hazards.  
• Greet and welcome guests, and respond to specific requests in a courteous manner.  
• Serve beverages and foods in the designated order and quickly remove dishes at the end of each course, meal, or function; replenish beverages and check with guests to ensure satisfaction.  
• Collect used dishes and utensils from tables and return them to the dishwashing area  
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service  
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness  
• Reset the banquet as specified by Management to ensure readiness for other functions.   

What you need: 

• Food Service/Serving experience (1-2 years preferred)
• Exceptional customer service skills  
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills  
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties  
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs.  
• Ability to handle high-volume customers  
• High School Diploma or equivalent  
• Reliable Transportation
