POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Financial Officer serves as the senior financial leader for Odessa Separator, responsible for protecting capital and accelerating confident, data-backed decision-making across the business. This role brings discipline, clarity, and speed to financial strategy, capital allocation, and operating performance, ensuring finance is a strategic advantage rather than a reporting function.

The CFO operates as a trusted thought partner to leadership, providing clear insight, healthy challenge, and decisive recommendations that drive sustainable growth and long-term value.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Set and enforce financial direction, standards, and discipline across the organization
  • Act as a strategic sparring partner to ownership, challenging assumptions and decisions with data-backed conviction
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insight for leadership
  • Drive timely, decisive financial decisions that balance risk, return, and opportunity cost
  • Lead a streamlined finance function designed for clarity, speed, and effectiveness

Capital Allocation & Performance Management

  • Oversee capital planning, deployment, and return analysis to ensure capital is used intentionally, not reactively
  • Evaluate investments, equipment purchases, pricing decisions, and growth initiatives with rigor and speed
  • Establish clear financial metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadence for real-time visibility into performance
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management with a forward-looking lens

Operational Finance

  • Partner closely with operations and leadership to improve margins, throughput, and cost discipline
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and financial friction within manufacturing and service operations
  • Ensure financial insight supports execution, not just compliance

Accounting & Controls

  • Provide oversight of accounting, AR/AP, sales orders, and invoicing through a lean, high-performing finance structure
  • Ensure strong internal controls, financial accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Guide and develop the Accounting Manager while maintaining high standards and accountability

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based role at OSI headquarters with regular collaboration across finance, operations, and leadership
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing and operational environments to support business understanding
  • Standard business hours with additional time during budgeting, forecasting, or major financial initiatives
  • Limited travel may be required for banking or professional services engagements.
  • May require sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting parts or materials up to 50 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance or CFO-level role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced credential strongly preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, oilfield services, or asset-intensive environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of partnering with ownership or executive leadership in a closely held or owner-led business.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process improvement, and quality assurance
  • Strong operational finance mindset with the ability to connect numbers to execution
  • Deep understanding of capital allocation, cash flow management, and opportunity cost
  • Ability to move quickly, make decisions with imperfect information, and provide clear direction
  • Highly disciplined, methodical, and analytical
  • Comfortable challenging leadership respectfully and directly
  • Skilled in financial modeling, forecasting, and performance dashboards
  • Clear, concise communicator who values clarity over polish
