Location: Various WSL Locations; Remote 1-2 days a week
Position Summary: The Compliance Manager supports the Chief People & Compliance Officer in implementing the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and ensures organizational compliance with safety, health, and regulatory requirements. This role collaborates with program leaders and staff to develop, monitor, and enforce compliance systems, policies, and procedures that protect staff and participants, reduce risk, and meet all legal and contractual standards. The Compliance Manager also contributes compliance data and insights to the organization’s enterprise Risk Management Dashboard, supporting the COO’s oversight of organizational risk alongside the CPO and CFO.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
General Compliance
● Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures for Youth Services
● Monitor adherence to federal, state, and local laws, licensing, and contractual requirements.
● Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits; ensure audit readiness across departments.
● Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments, and corrective action planning.
● Provide compliance training and support to staff.
● Investigate compliance concerns and recommend corrective actions.
● Compile and provide compliance-related metrics, trends, and risk indicators for inclusion in the organization’s Risk Management Dashboard.
● Work cross-functionally with the CFO, CPCO, and COO to ensure compliance risk data is integrated into organizational risk reporting and decision-making.
Support for IIPP Administration
● Help develop and maintain safety and health guidelines, policies, and procedures.
● Maintain current knowledge of OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
● Serve as secondary liaison with governmental agencies, insurance companies, and medical providers.
● Coordinate and support safety trainings and drills.
● Assist in developing safe work practices and inspection guidelines.
● Arrange and follow up on safety and health inspections to ensure corrective action is taken.
● Support responses to worker health or safety complaints or concerns.
● Assist in maintaining injury, illness, and accident reporting and investigation systems.
● Track and analyze trends in injury and illness data to identify patterns and corrective strategies.
● Maintain systems for inspection records, safety training documentation, and medical evaluations.
● Support assignment of safety responsibilities among staff with appropriate training.
Professional Qualifications:
● Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Policy or related field.
● Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience, preferably in a growth-phase nonprofit environment.
● Strong administrative and organizational skills with computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs).
Position Requirements:
● Employment is contingent upon successfully completing pre-employment background checks, including criminal history, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to ongoing compliance with these checks.
● Possession of a valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
● Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations.
Position Requirements:
● Moderate travel among Wellspring Living locations and others in the Metro Atlanta area
● Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds and have the ability to work for long periods at a computer
● Satisfactory criminal history background check
● Clean Motor Vehicle Record
Working Conditions:
● Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer.
● Moderate local travel required related to program and training needs, as well as occasional travel beyond the metro Atlanta area.
