About this position

POSITION SUMMARY

This role assists in identifying inefficiencies, applying lean tools, and sustaining improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and safety. Working closely with production teams, engineers, and supervisors, the technician helps embed a culture of continuous improvement across operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

Apply lean manufacturing tools and techniques (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work) to production processesSupport continuous improvement projects by collecting data, analyzing workflows, and identifying wasteAssist in implementing process changes and monitor their effectiveness over timeDocument improvements in work instructions, SOPs, and training materialsAssist in the implementation of a visual workflow management system that facilitates continuous improvement through collaboration and feedback. This includes color coding, implementation of labeling systems, shadow boards, and tooling management systems.Maintain performance boards and metrics tracking systems to ensure visibility of progressCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve process bottlenecks and improve efficiencyPromote safety and quality standards by ensuring lean initiatives align with compliance requirementsReport project outcomes and KPIs to supervisors and management regularlyAll other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES) 

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and toolsStrong data collection and analysis skills (Excel, SPC tools, ERP/MES systems)Excellent communication and teamwork abilitiesCertification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt), or similar preferred 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels) 

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or process improvement roles
