About this position
TRI-STATE RIGGING is seeking qualified candidates to join our Louisville KY team as Riggers and Equipment Operators. Candidates must have active Class A CDL.
This position operates equipment, primarily forklift, and assists with the lifting and moving of large and heavy objects with rigging.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment, usually forklift, to move large and heavy objects.
- Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials;
- Drive trucks to worksites and unload trucks;
- Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability;
- Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools;
- Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules;
- Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces;
- Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques;
- Install ground rigging to assist in job completion and align, level, and anchor machinery;
- Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools;
- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support heavy equipment;
- Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps;
- Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use;
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable in OSHA standards in rigging.
- Must possess Class A CDL.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language.
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
Desired:
- Candidates with previous transportation and rigging experience.
- Prefer candidates with proficient oral and written communication skills, technical skills, and functional skills.
