We are excited to announce our 2026 Summer Internship program!
Our summer internship program runs from Tuesday, June 9th, to Tuesday, August 4th. The program is hybrid, with in-office work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and remote work on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and we provide all necessary equipment to help you succeed in your role.
As an intern, you will work on real business projects, gaining exposure to various aspects of the company and having the opportunity to make an impact. You will also connect with Delta Dental employees across different business functions, helping you expand your professional network. Throughout the eight-week program, we’ll assist with resume and LinkedIn profile development and provide you with a LinkedIn Learning license. Interns will meet weekly to share experiences and learn from our business leaders. At the end of the program, interns will have the chance to have lunch with Delta Dental’s CEO.
Interns will be compensated at an hourly rate of $22.00.

Job Summary
The Operations Intern will work closely with Customer Service Agents and Subject Matter Experts to inventory, audit, review, and update existing job aids and knowledge management materials (step-by-step guides, reference documents, and process documentation) used to support daily operations and Claims.
This role plays an important part in maintaining and improving the company's knowledge management system, which helps ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality service. The intern will collaborate across teams, manage multiple tasks, and apply strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. This internship is well-suited for students interested in operations, customer experience, business process improvement, technical writing, or organizational effectiveness.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Inventory existing guidelines and knowledge management materials.
- Modify or create process guides, reference documents, and knowledge management artifacts into an approved format and add version control.
- Review guidelines and knowledge management artifacts with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and update appropriately.
- Create new job aids and knowledge management articles for processes that are not currently documented.
- Perform all tasks necessary to ensure job aids and knowledge management materials are current.
- Archive old and obsolete job aids.
- Prepare updated content for the SharePoint system.
Operational and Administrative Support
- Meet Intern schedule expectations, assigned objectives, and productivity goals.
- Perform tasks necessary to ensure documents and knowledge materials remain current and accurate.
- Support Claims administration tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Intern Learning and Development Opportunities
During this internship, you will develop skills and gain exposure in:
- Project Management Skills: learn how to plan, organize, and track tasks while supporting a multi-step documentation project. Gain experience prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Technical Writing and Documentation: Develop skills in writing clear, accurate, and user-friendly job aids and reference materials. Learn how to translate complex processes into step-by-step guides that support teams.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with Claims Management and Subject Matter Experts to gather information, validate processes, and ensure documentation accuracy. Build professional communication skills and confidence working with different teams.
- Knowledge Management: learn how knowledge management systems support operational efficiency, consistency, high-quality claims, and customer experience. Assist in loading new or updated documents into the SharePoint system.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strengthen critical thinking by identifying documentation gaps, improving outdated content, and adapting to changing processes. Learn how to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.
- Professional Development: Gain exposure to a corporate operations environment, build transferable administrative and organizational skills, and develop confidence working independently and collaboratively.

Experience, Education, and Certifications Required
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, English, Information Management, Liberal Arts, or a related field
- Relevant coursework, academic projects, or prior internship experience are a plus, but not required
- Interest in operations, customer experience, documentation, technical writing, or knowledge management is encouraged
