Summary:

The Talent Management & Development Manager is a blend of strategic architecting and hands-on operational leadership across corporate, manufacturing, and distribution/warehouse environments. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of employee growth, including building best-in-class internship and early talent programs, driving succession planning and bench strength, and partnering across HR and the business to support a high-performing, highly engaged workforce across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. As the curriculum architect, this position manages internal learning systems, applies instructional design methodologies, oversees vendor relationships, and leads the performance management program. A strong emphasis on data and ROI ensures that learning and development initiatives are directly linked to business outcomes and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assist in developing the organization's talent, learning, and development strategy.
  • Manage and direct the activity of the Learning & Development Specialist to accomplish set objectives and goals, including supporting manufacturing and distribution operations in skill development and building capabilities that drive continuous improvement and provide a positive experience for new hires and associates interested in progression and development.
  • Oversee and maintain optimal function of the organization's internal tools, resources, and systems to enable personal, professional, individual, and organizational development. Continuously improve, enhance, and streamline avenues to build bench strength across the organization and functions.
  • Develop metrics to evaluate and measure success of learning programs, including content, facilitation, overall program design and application, and ROI of applied learning.
  • Develop and deploy early talent programs and all leadership development programs and opportunities.
  • Partner with business leaders, talent acquisition, and HR to build on the existing intern program to progress to a best-in-class experience for potential early talent.
  • Responsible for administering, continuously improving, and refining a company-wide performance management program and supporting technology.
  • Compile or assist with acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and initiatives requested by senior executives and HR staff.
  • Serve as lead representative and liaison between HR, HRIS, external talent management vendors, and other stakeholders for HR program design and implementation projects.
  • Act as internal advisor with leadership in designing and delivering effective, innovative, and high-quality learning programs that deliver measurable results.
  • Serve as the curriculum architect and designer of innovative learning and development solutions that improve learner performance and achieve business outcomes.
  • Build, manage, and leverage positive, collaborative partnerships among business stakeholders, SMEs, and peers.
  • Create clear, concise, well-designed, and easy-to-use materials to enhance learning.
  • Ensure learning resources are relevant, up to date, easy to find, and well organized.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and subject matter experts to design content, as well as partner with external resources and consultants as needed.
  • Apply instructional design and measurement theories, practices, and methods.
  • Manage and at times facilitate and lead training programs, including coordinating production of learning materials, equipment, scheduling, room setup, etc., as required.
  • Remain current on trends in organizational and employee development and recommend and incorporate best practices.
  • Work closely with Total Rewards, HRIS, and Employee Relations to accomplish departmental initiatives.
  • Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures which include IATF, ISO, ISMS, TISAX, QMS, J-Sox, and Safety related policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and implementing learning and development strategies and programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent development, talent management, and succession/talent planning activities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, lead, and develop a team.
  • Proven experience in human capital planning, development, and employee engagement.
  • Experience working with an LMS, organizational development, and design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences and levels of management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and keep them on track.
  • Strong employee relations skills with a customer-service orientation.
  • Proven ability to analyze data for trends and provide recommendations based on analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
