The Role:  Movement Programming Lead

The Movement Programming Lead serves as the on-site leader for instructors and personal trainers and is the primary point of contact for THE WELL’s movement programming within the Club. This role combines personal training and group instruction with strong on-floor leadership and operational oversight.

In partnership with the Director of Wellness, the Movement Programming Lead supports recruitment coordination, onboarding, scheduling execution, and performance feedback for instructors and trainers. The role is accountable for maintaining instructional quality and ensuring the movement experience reflects THE WELL’s philosophy of integrative wellness, empowerment, and education.

This position centers on in-club leadership, teaching excellence, and daily operational ownership. Strategic program development and brand-wide movement standards are established by the Director of Mindful Movement.

Reports to: Director of Wellness (GM)

Supervises: Instructors and Personal Trainers

Key Responsibilities:


Team Leadership & Programming Execution

  • Serve as the on-floor leader for instructors and personal trainers, modeling professionalism, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Own daily execution of the movement schedule, ensuring coverage, instructor preparedness, and class consistency.
  • Maintain clear communication with instructors to support alignment, engagement, and performance standards.
  • Track attendance trends and instructor availability to ensure reliable scheduling and seamless member experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of instructor certifications, credentials, and required trainings.
  • Provide structured performance feedback and operational insights to the Director of Wellness.


Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Identify instructor hiring needs and communicate recommendations to the Director of Wellness.
  • Participate in sourcing, evaluating, and observing potential instructors through live or demo classes.
  • Support onboarding and studio orientation for new instructors.
  • Reinforce THE WELL’s movement philosophy, instructional standards, and class formats during onboarding.


Teaching & Member Experience

  • Deliver personal training sessions and group classes aligned with THE WELL’s integrative movement philosophy.
  • Conduct performance assessments and guide members toward measurable progress.
  • Uphold inclusive, anatomy-informed, and thoughtfully sequenced class standards.
  • Inspire members to engage more deeply with THE WELL’s broader wellness offerings.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation to support integrated care across departments.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and respond appropriately to injuries or incidents.


Operations & Studio Excellence

  • Maintain a consistent in-club leadership presence during assigned shifts.
  • Provide floor coverage and substitute instruction as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all movement spaces.
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance needs.
  • Support inventory management and studio supply oversight.
  • Utilize scheduling platforms to ensure operational accuracy and coverage reliability.
