About this position

 

MTC is hiring a Facilities Manager who proactively oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all facility operations, demonstrating a high level of initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions. Takes full ownership of building maintenance, safety compliance, vendor management, and space optimization to ensure seamless functionality across all sites. Drives measurable outcomes by reducing operational costs and enhancing efficiencies.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • This is a working supervisor position.
  • Complies with all MTC policies and procedures including, but not limited to: safety and emergency procedures, requirements of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and other regulatory agencies.
  • Manage maintenance needs, identify priorities and work with location managers to ensure minimal impact to program services.
  • Ensure that monthly fire drill and quarterly disaster drill are completed for all MTC locations.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and address safety and accessibility concerns.
  • Conduct monthly facility inspection and execute plan of correction action.
  • Develop relationships with subcontractors and act as the primary point of contact.
  • Manage all subcontractors work in the areas of maintenance, repair and construction.
  • Conduct reviews on current and new contracts for maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage new construction and major renovations projects and where applicable, work with Accounting or Development offices with reporting. 
  • Fleet maintenance, inspection, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies by scheduling and/or completing required inspections. (Emergency Lighting, Back Flow Testing, Load Bank Testing, Fire Communication Testing, Sprinkler Inspections, Generators, AC Filters, Door Latching Tests, Vehicles, wells, etc.)
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance: HVAC filters, door latching tests, emergency exit tests, and other NFPA required testing.
  • Demonstrates proficient skills in plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting, tiling, cleaning up work area, and computer use.
  • Repair/replace structures such as sinks, showers, floors, walls.
  • Coordinate, prioritize and complete work orders and special projects.
  • Coordinate, plan, execute, and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Increase operational effectiveness & efficiency of MTC’s buildings and infrastructure.
  • Service appliances including washing machine, dryer, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher.
  • Coordinate with contractors and acquire estimates when needed. 
  • Move furniture, equipment and appliances: disassemble and assemble as needed.
  • Compliance with OSHA Regulations.
  • Maintain work order and inspection records and hours log.
  • Serves on the emergency management team.
  • Create a collaborative work environment and work well with others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or relevant certifications preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in facility maintenance, construction, or related field, with supervisory or lead role experience. Strong knowledge of building systems, regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA), and preventative maintenance. Skilled in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility repair is required. Proficient in using computers and maintenance related software. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across locations. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. A positive, professional, and respectful attitude is required.    Serves on MTC's emergency management team and/or may be required to maintain on-call emergency response status in the event of emergency activities affecting MTC.


Must pass a Level II background check/fingerprinting, drug screening, and FDOT/MVR check. EEO & Drug-free workplace.


Schedule:  Typically, Monday through Friday; hours may vary depending on business needs.

Compensation:  Mid-$50K range/annually, depending on experience.
