About this position
A roofing foreman at D. C. Taylor Co. is responsible for leading a crew of up to 10 roof technicians, ensuring safe and efficient work that meets both customer and company standards. The role encompasses all aspects of roofing, including tear-off, repair, and maintenance, with a primary focus on TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and EPDM roofing systems. Additionally, the foreman oversees the installation of roof-related sheet metal components.
Key responsibilities include:
1) Safety and Efficiency:
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and discipline to ensure efficient and professional roofing installation.
- Conduct regular safety meetings with crew members to discuss job site safety protocols.
2) Crew Management:
- Effectively manage the assigned crew, materials, equipment, and administrative work.
- Provide regular training, evaluation, and feedback to crew personnel.
- Allocate work strategically among crew members based on their skills and project requirements.
3) Project Planning and Execution:
- Examine roofs and penetrations to plan jobs effectively.
- Lead regular meetings with crew to discuss project progress and schedules.
- Ensure proper installation techniques and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
4) Quality Control:
- Oversee all aspects of roofing projects to maintain high-quality standards.
- Perform inspections and correct any errors in the roofing work.
5) Customer Relations:
- Communicate with customers about project status and address any concerns.
- Ensure the job site is clean and properly maintained after completion of work.
This role requires extensive experience in the roofing industry, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of various roofing systems and safety protocols
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License w/ a clean driving record for the last 7 years.
- 5+ Years of Single-Ply/TPO system Commercial Roofing Experience.
