Position Overview:

As a Managing Associate Attorney, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing a portfolio of debt collection and subrogation cases throughout Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, demonstrated courtroom experience, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while mentoring, training and overseeing junior attorneys. 

 

As the Managing Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for handling cases from pre-suit through post-judgment, including conducting hearings, trials, and depositions. This position also requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to interpret and apply legal statutes, and a commitment to compliance with both state and federal regulations related to creditors' rights.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in debt collection/subrogation: hearings, mediations, trials, depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements and pursue legal remedies.
  • Draft and review pleadings, demand letters, settlement agreements, etc.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
  • Manage a full litigation caseload, meet deadlines, and update clients regularly
  • Collaborate with opposing counsel, judiciary, and court personnel
  • Monitor changes in state/federal debt-collection laws to advise clients
  • Supervise support staff and train newer attorneys (Managing Associate scope)
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in debt collection laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide clients with accurate advice and guidance.
  • Provide legal guidance to office support staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in Florida Bar and in good standing
  • At least one (1) year of litigation experience, preferably in debt collection and subrogation
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of Florida and Federal Law
  • Proven experience handling debt collection and subrogation litigation from start to finish.

 

Work Environment:

This position is full-time, working in-house Monday through Friday, 8a-5pm. at our firm in Cocoa, FL. The work environment is fun, friendly and positive with a diverse pool of employees. This is not a remote position. Travel is required, but is mostly same day in company owned vehicle. 

 

Compensation Overview:

This is a salary, exempt position with bonus potential. Pay is on a bi-weekly cycle. Compensation is based on experience and skillset.
