About this position
The Peter Pennoyer Architects, D.P.C. Interior Design team is seeking motivated and detail-oriented summer interns to assist with a variety of design tasks.
There will be two sessions:
Session I: May 26 through July 3, 2026
Session II: July 6 through August 14, 2026
Role Description:
- Assist in the creation and updating of digital design presentations and material boards.
- Support the sourcing of finishes, fabrics, furniture, and accessories in alignment with project objectives.
- Conduct research on new products, vendors, and design solutions to enhance project outcomes.
- Maintain the material library, ensuring samples are organized, labeled, and returned promptly.
- Maintain library of Interior Design books, labeling and categorizing as needed.
- Contribute creative input during brainstorming sessions for client projects.
- Ordering and collecting material samples for project presentations
Qualifications:
- A degree in Interior Design or currently pursuing a degree at a CIDA-accredited institution.
- Knowledge of space planning, architectural construction documents, and familiarity with design project phases.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp and Revit preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong rendering skills, either by hand or using design software.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing requirements.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
- A self-starter who quickly grasps new concepts and takes initiative.
The pay range for this role is:
22 - 25 USD per hour(New York Office)
