Technician, Refinishing

JOB SUMMARY:

The Refinishing Technician at Renova One is responsible for restoring and refinishing surfaces such as bathtubs, countertops, tile, and other hard surfaces across single-family, multi-family, and commercial properties. This role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on skill with surface preparation and coating application, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. The Refinishing Technician will ensure all work meets company standards for appearance, durability, and safety, while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and repairing chips or cracks prior to refinishing
• Apply coatings, primers, and topcoats using spray equipment and other refinishing tools
• Ensure proper color matching and smooth, even finishes on all surfaces
• Follow company and manufacturer specifications for coating application, drying, and curing
• Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to standards, making touch-ups or corrections as needed
• Operate and maintain refinishing tools and spray equipment, ensuring safe and proper use
• Maintain accurate documentation of jobs completed, materials used, and time worked
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including use of PPE and proper ventilation practices
• Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and clients regarding project timelines, issues, and expectations
• Assist in managing inventory of coatings, supplies, and tools
• Provide excellent customer service and represent Renova One’s professionalism and quality standards on every job
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 2 years of experience in refinishing, resurfacing, painting, or a related trade (automotive, cabinetry, coatings, etc.)
• Knowledge of refinishing materials, coatings, and application techniques
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to operate spray guns, compressors, and other refinishing tools safely and effectively
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to repair or correct finish imperfections
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor, multi-unit sites)
• Flexibility to travel between job sites as needed
