Companion for Saturday outings

Community Resource Network of Florida is looking for a caregiver who is fun, compassionate, dependable and is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and live their best life. 

Older adult male in need of a companion on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.  (some flexibility on time) 

The companion will accompany him into the community, he enjoys going for walks, playing basketball and talking to people in his community.  He also enjoys animals.  

By applying for this position, you acknowledge and understand that this role is offered on an independent contractor basis, and not as an employee of the company. The role pays $15.00 hourly.

Schedule: Saturdays form 4 hours.

Responsibilities and Duties you can expect in the role:

• Encouraging and supporting the individual during home and community's activities
• Ensuring individual's safety and maintaining a safe living environment 
• Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individual to social events, community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments 
• Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization
• Complete daily progress notes

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass Local and Level 2 Background Screening 
• Provide proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training. 
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Are 18 years of age or older
