Staff Accountant - Payroll

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant-Payroll to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant – Payroll is responsible for payroll processing and general accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Responsibilities

• Process and review payroll, including wages, deductions, taxes, and filings
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Assist with audits and provide payroll and accounting documentation
• Maintain internal controls related to payroll and financial reporting
• Support financial reporting and ad-hoc accounting projects as needed

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting and/or Finance
• CPA Required
• Proven experience with corporate accounting practices including financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliation
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial concepts such as debits & credits, cash flow analysis, and account reconciliation
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required
• Experience with payroll processing systems and tax experience related to payroll is essential
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform financial analysis effectively
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
