Resident Care Manager Position Summary
The Resident Care Manager supports the Resident Care Director by providing clinical assistance, resident care coordination, documentation support, and daily operational oversight for Assisted Living and Memory Care. This role maintains clear clinical boundaries while supporting leadership in admissions, assessments, staffing, training, and regulatory compliance.
The Resident Care Manager plays a key role in ensuring resident satisfaction, promoting independence and dignity, and supporting a safe, compliant, and person-centered care environment for residents with varying cognitive and physical needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the resident admission process, including clinical evaluations, functional assessments, and required documentation
- Conduct routine nursing observations and promptly report changes in condition
- Assist with monitoring resident responses to medications and treatments
- Coordinate daily nurse and CNA assignments in Assisted Living
- Audit resident records, care documentation, medication areas, and equipment
- Serve as a clinical resource on the floor to support daily resident care needs
- Assist with care planning, falls documentation, skin checks, and behavior monitoring
- Support staff coaching, mentorship, and performance management
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and supervision of nursing staff and CNAs
- Support compliance with Florida ALF and Memory Care regulations and AHCA requirements
- Participate in on-call and Manager on Duty rotations as assigned
- Communicate with families under the guidance of the Resident Care Director
- Assist with resident transfers, discharges, and transitions of care
Qualifications and Requirements
- Active LPN license in the State of Florida (required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, or related setting
- At least one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Experience working with residents with Alzheimers disease or other dementias strongly preferred
- Florida ALF Core Training and Core Competency certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of AHCA regulations and Florida Assisted Living requirements.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort using EHR systems and digital scheduling/documentation tools
- Commitment to resident dignity, safety, and person-centered care
