Summary
The Manager, Test Engineering leads a multidisciplinary test organization responsible for validating SENS products from end-to-end. Including PCBs, product firmware, application software, regulatory testing, and full system integration. This role ensures high product quality and customer reliability by owning test strategy, automation, lab operations, release readiness, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of test engineers and test technicians responsible for validating new products, developing production tests, and implementing test at vendors/suppliers.
- Create and manage execution of detailed test plans covering hardware, software, and system requirements including:
- Functional Testing: Verification that a product operates according to specifications.
- Performance Testing: Characterization of a product’s responsive & stability under varying workloads.
- Reliability Testing: How a product performs over time & under stress.
- Environmental Testing: Extreme conditions performance: temp, EMC, humidity, vibration, etc.
- Compliance Testing: Confirm adherence to regulations & safety standards.
- Stress Testing: Determine a product’s breaking point & areas for improvement.
- Document & analyze test results in test forms, databases, & formal reports (as required).
- Log, track, and verify fixes for identified defects.
- Develop automated testing to increase efficiency, to increase coverage, & to ensure consistent results.
- Analyze test data to identify patterns, detect anomalies, & to provide actionable insights to improve the product design (new products and production).
- Work with new product engineers and manufacturing engineers to define, code, and deploy production test, calibration, & configuration.
- Design, build, qualify, deploy & support functional test fixtures at venders.
- Create product and engineering test fixtures and expand in-house test capability to improve speed to market and test effectiveness.
- Set and track KPIs and team goals related to defect detection and escapes, test coverage, and test capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar related field.
- 7+ years in test engineering/validation (hardware, firmware, software, or systems), including complex integrated products.
- 2+ years managing or leading teams.
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies and execution.
- Hands-on experience with test automation.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional execution and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and test fixture design.
- Self-starter with a mindset of solving problems.
Location: This position is located on-site in Longmont, CO.
Base Compensation: $155,000 - $175,000 is the projected range of annual base salary for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
