About this position
The Warehouse Staff Member receives, stores, and distributes material, equipment, and products within the DC Dental Warehouse by performing the duties noted below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the shipping and/or receiving areas by unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching customer orders and pulling inventory for processing.
- Read customer orders and ship orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
- Move materials and items to and from the receiving area, storage areas, the shipping area, or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as by size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fill requisitions, customer orders, or requests for materials or other stock items and distribute items to the shipping area or another designated area.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or to the shipping area.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method, such as barcode labels.
- Open boxes, bales, crates, and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed according to a Warehouse Management System.
- Physically count inventory on hand.
- Weigh and count items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Prepare and package orders for shipping.
- Receive product deliveries and process them accordingly.
- Organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Drive a forklift throughout the warehouse in order to move merchandise (if qualified).
- Other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous shipping/receiving experience in a warehouse.
- Detail-oriented.
- Basic knowledge and ability to use a computer.
- Ability to read and interpret documents as well as ability to write basic correspondence memos and notes.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
- Ability to physically to walk and be on one’s feet at least 8 hours per day.
- Ability to physically lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to physically use a pallet jack and load/unload skids of product.
- Previous experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred.
- Forklift certified preferred.
