Department:                 Food and Beverage

Reports to:                     Sous Chef / Executive Sous Chef

Statement of Purpose:

A Pizza Cook is responsible for all aspects of their assigned station. Pizza Cooks work in tandem with the entire culinary staff to ensure proper execution of both à la carte and private event menu items.

Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients; cooking meals; checking ingredients for freshness; and arranging and garnishing the dishes. Cooks also ensure that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

Primary Duties

  • Prepare pizzas according to recipe specifications
  • Weigh, measure, mix, and prep ingredients in strict adherence to the Executive Chef's standards
  • Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables and other ingredients
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat or preparing sauces)
  • Set and stock station with all necessary supplies
  • Check food and ingredients for freshness
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Ensure kitchen area, equipment and utensils are clean
  • Answer, report and follow instructions according to the chain of command

  • Food Handling Certificate is a plus

Experience

  • Work experience as a Pizza Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
  • Hands-on experience with preparing and baking pizza doughs
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and brick or stone oven

Other

  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment in a hot climate
  • May be required to lift to 40 lbs. occasionally  
  • Ability to work long hours while standing

  • Reacts well under pressure
  • Available to work late nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as necessary
  • Must have exceptional grooming habits

Salary Information
