GENERAL SUMMARY:

 A multi-skilled position responsible for the operation and quality control of all the Salad Dressing packaging equipment and systems required in the process of making Salad Dressing finished goods. This person should be production oriented, educated in food safety defense, have good leadership skills, and willing to work closely with the other Salad Dressing team members. Operate all packaging systems including fillers, metal detectors, bottle coders and box coders. Clear jams safely on the above equipment.


SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION: 

Start-up and shutdown of Salad Dressing equipment following Safety, Quality, and Production guidelines.

Perform and document quality checks utilizing computer software for critical aspects such as: package fill weight, code dates, labels, metal detection (CCP #2) etc.

Work with team members to ensure totes are changed in a timely manner 

Keep accurate production and quality records

Monitor the equipment as it runs to keep downtime at a minimum.

Assist on changeovers as assigned to minimize downtime 

Maintain housekeeping standards in the Salad Dressing packaging area

Relieve line workers as requested 

Change film rolls including proper alignment of film 

Ensure code date matches job packet instructions 

Inspect and monitor container weights 

Perform cleaning and sanitation following all guidelines

Participate as an active member of the Production Team

Participate in Quality and Productivity improvement efforts

Work closely with Material Handler to ensure FIFO is followed Document duties as scheduled in the computer based system

Follow all written and verbal Salad Dressing production priorities for the day and week

Monitor and turn in all production and quality sheets for the shift

Monitor materials in use to ensure productivity and quality requirements are maintained

Inform Production Manager of all production, quality, safety, or personnel issues

Follow all written and verbal production instructions and priorities

Work closely with team members from all shifts to ensure effective shift hand offs 

Assist in finding coverage for shift to fill in for absences and vacations

A good working and communication relationship with co-workers, warehouse personnel, the Production Supervisor and Manager 

Other duties as assigned.  

Requirements:

REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Effective verbal, listening, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with other departments in the company
  • Ability to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays if required
  • Self- directed
  • Good attendance

  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment and practices


Salary Information

$21.50 - $21.50 Hourly Wage
