POSITION SUMMARY
Working under the supervision of the Administrative Services Manager, the Grounds Care Technician will perform maintenance, care and upkeep of cemetery grounds or other Cowley County grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs maintenance of landscaping,lawns,and roadways within the cemeteryor other Countyfacilitygrounds.
- Maintainsor completes minor repairs toequipment, i.e., mowers, weed eaters or other trimmers.
- Water and weed flower beds as needed.
- Trim bushes or trees as needed.
- Other duties asdeemednecessary to promote thebeautificationof the cemeteryor other County grounds or facilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: General experience in the area of landscaping or maintenance of grounds.
Must be at least 16 years of age and be able to work in different weather conditions.
Skills: Ability to operate all heavy and light equipment associated with landscaping and the upkeep of the cemetery grounds as well as other County facility grounds.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform physical work and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; ability to stand, walk, twist, kneel, sit, bend, crawl, climb, grasp, pinch, ride, push, pull and perform similar body movements; possess hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to operate mowers and weed eaters. Ability to speak and hear in person, by telephone and two-radio, ability to see and read maps and records, service manuals and other similar materials.
