Presbyterian Village North has an immediate opening for the Community Life Coordinator in our Senior Living Long Term Care Department! Are you great at planning activities and keeping our Seniors engaged and entertained? Then we have got a new work home for you!
Full-Time Schedule: 5 days a week, Tuesday - Saturday; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with 30 minute lunch at noon.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Models a servant attitude towards others
Takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
Is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers
Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
Assist with the development of activity programs that meet the social, emotional, physical, and other therapeutic needs of the residents within specified budget
Can think and work outside the box for constant resident personality changes
A great personality that is willing to work with compassion to stand up to the changing daily schedule due to resident behavior
Work in three different units with great time management and teamwork cooperation
Ensure bulletin boards are current and attractively decorated with seasonal and appropriate dcor
Complete admission quality activities assessments as scheduled/needed
Lead activities, book entertainment, speakers, and coordinate volunteers for your units/floor
Provide group or 1 on 1 activities as required per residents needs, including 1 on 1 personal care
Encourage all residents to attend activities and participate
Deliver activity calendars to designated areas
Coordinate activity events (i.e., set-up, food) with other departments
Maintain all pets and pet environments, as assigned
Assist with transportation (in-house and outside) during activities
Assist with purchasing supplies for your residents as needed for events
Enhance and develop regular programming, including music programming, on specific floors as assigned by Community Life Manager
Follow expectations of the dementia training program, in partnership with the cooperation of the nursing staff and Patient Care Coordinator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED is required
Bachelors Degree is preferred
An activity certification from an approved course as required by State of Texas is preferred
Willing to work with residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
Minimum of one or more years working with the elderly in providing group activities is required
A working knowledge of activities for senior adults is required
Experience working in memory care is required
Ability to lead therapeutic activities for varying resident levels
Ability to organize, document and implement detailed programs
Outstanding interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm
Ability to read and write the English language
Ability to follow State and Federal regulations pertaining to activities
