The Inventory Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management within the warehouse environment. This position is responsible for maintaining precise records of stock levels, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and verifying the condition and quantity of goods. The Inventory Clerk collaborates closely with warehouse staff and management to optimize storage solutions and streamline inventory processes. By adhering to established procedures and safety protocols, the clerk helps minimize errors and prevent loss or damage to inventory. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in inventory control or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and barcode scanning technology.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and inventory reports.
- Basic math skills to calculate figures and amounts accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating material handling equipment including pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations applicable to warehouse environments.
- Certification in inventory management or logistics.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately record inventory transactions using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and update stock levels accordingly.
- Organize and maintain inventory storage areas, ensuring items are stored safely and in compliance with safety rules.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks to move goods within the warehouse efficiently.
- Read and interpret procedure manuals and inventory documents to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Calculate figures and amounts related to inventory counts, shipments, and stock adjustments.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies and maintain data accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and management regarding inventory status and issues.
