About this position

 

Manage food operations in the hospice houses when the Dietary Supervisor/Manager is absent.  Utilizes services of a registered dietician in menu preparation and special diet development for patients. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Safe Serve certification preferred.
  • Must have completed the  registered program for dietary managers
  • Previous food service experience recommended.        Must have knowledge of food preparation, safety and sanitation regulations of federal, state and county statutes.
  • Attendance is a condition of employment.

Key Result Areas

 

  • Coordinates and integrates the clinical aspects of the nutrition services.
  • Responsible for writing and printing patient menus.
  • Coordinate, teach and direct volunteers to assist in kitchens.
  • Responsible for procurement and other related cost of food service.
  • Cook and prepare all foods according to safe food-handling practices for three meals daily (and any snacks required).
  • Utilizes and properly rotates overproduction of food items. 
  • Prepare all trays to be delivered to patients’ rooms.
  • Maintain temperature logs in all refrigerators and freezers daily.
  • Clean and sanitize all work areas to meet standards of safe food handling practices. 
  • Knowledge of equipment.
  • Must be able to use, clean and maintain all machinery and tools used in food handling and preparation. 
  • Maintain a high level of urgency, customer consciousness and service excellence. 
  • Participate as an active supporter of the Treasure Coast Hospice compliance program including the emphasis to report, as well as complying with all Federal, State, and Local laws as well as the organization’s compliance program. 
  • Fulfill all responsibilities related to the success of the strategic plan of the organization as requested and assigned.

  • Position will be categorized as category III (involves no routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues).
