About this position
Responsible for determining and implementing best manufacturing practices for current and future production related to set-up, start-up, processing, and maintenance of injection molding machines to satisfactorily accomplish quality and on-time delivery of products to customers. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the setup, programming, and processing of injection molding machines, robots, and related automation equipment.
• Conducts start-up testing of mold operation and process parameters – Works with QA and Engineering departments for best processing parameters.
• Regularly audits production processes, documentation, and machine parameters for standard and procedure conformity and continuous improvement in both quality and production output.
• Systematically troubleshoots product, machine, mold, and robot non-compliance or malfunctions.
• Ensures manufactured parts meet customer specifications through various precision measurement techniques, gauges, and thorough visual inspection.
• Complies with ISO and internal quality procedural and documentation requirements.
• Responsible for routine preventive maintenance of molding machines and other manufacturing equipment.
• Provides technical support to engineers to ensure production goals.
• Maintains a clean work area and utilizes safe working practices.
• Responsible for overall cleanliness of machines and surrounding Cell work areas.
• Monitors quality of parts throughout production run and provides support to quality inspectors in assessing part quality.
• Works with QA and Engineering throughout first article inspections, prototypes and capabilities studies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to use basic hand tools; Allen, open end, and 12” pipe wrenches; ratchet and sockets; screwdrivers; pliers; lockable tool chest.
• Ability to communicate information to other employees.
• Ability to create new molding and machine parameters to produce quality products.
• Ability to train new Mold Setters without assistance.
• Ability to communicate the QA personnel to assure goal standards are met.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical mindset, reasoning abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Good training and leadership skills; team oriented. Highly motivated.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and riding forklifts.
• Ability to set up and operate injection molding machines.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must possess fundamental understanding of processing to include: water, material, tool understanding (core, hot tips, and hydraulic cores, etc.)
• Computer experience with Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• English language proficiency, to include verbal and written communication.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings
Education and Experience:
• 5+ years as process Technician 2 (or prior external experience).
• Experience with setting up and fundamental understanding of processing to include: water, material, and tool understanding (cores, hot tips, and hydraulic cores).
• High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push 200 lbs., stand, sit, bend, kneel, or reach throughout shift.
• Dexterity of hand/eye coordination, especially when using the overhead crane and handling of tools, trim knives, molds, and material.
• Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment.
• Frequently moves from waist level to floor level.
