Doors & Windows Team Lead
Summertown Metals is looking for a self-motivated leader to manage our Door & Windows Department. Previous managerial experience preferred. This is a full-time position that is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, vision, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, STD, LTD, life, 401K with a company match, vacation and PTO.
Job duties include but are not limited to.
- Leadership of team: Continuous Improvement is always at the forefront to create and improve efficient processes, to be reviewed annually.
- Safety in all areas and consistent stock maintained. Minimal discrepancies or damage on outgoing freight. Clean and organized work area. Jobs marked and staged for ease of day and night crew.
- Daily operations of the departments are being managed efficiently with minimal team members, monitored consistently for safety, promptness, efficiency in a way that supports the STM culture and standard.
- KRA's updated and reviewed with team members. Processes, tools, and manpower are in place for unloading and stocking inventory.
- Shifts are covered in off days as well as managing team member off days to cover shift. Approve with Jason Snook before scheduling.
- Shipping and logistics scheduling are kept to a minimum with zero disruption to the shipping schedule.
- Missing or damaged items have a driver signed notation and purchasing made aware same day.
- Stock Inventory Levels are monitored, SPO's walk doors (wood & alum etc. are stored and kept at min/max operating stock levels.
- Materials are ordered with the Purchasing department to ensure there are no material shortages.
- Special order items are tagged, marked with a PO#.
- Outgoing jobs are staged daily and ready to be picked up or loaded. Doors and windows are loaded on the truck in a way that maximizes efficiency while unloading at the customer.
- Monthly inventory is completed by the end of each month.
- Incoming freight is being checked in and verified to the Bill of Lading. Signed tickets and invoices are turned into the Purchasing department daily.
- Inventory is kept under roof to avoid being rained on.
- Damage control and Inventory reclaiming. Extremely important
- Damaged doors and windows are repaired weekly by a team member [list specific individual KRA] for zero balance doors and reintroduced back into inventory each week on a structured basis.
- Dead inventory is reviewed monthly [by the 1st week of the month, pulled from stock and placed into specialized dead material area. Lists are turned into Ashley in Purchasing for updating.
- Dead stock inventory is organized for ease of customers to view all similar product in the same area.
