Overview 

An Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of certified payroll records and compliance with established standards and regulations. The position involves a variety of tasks that require attention to detail, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and auditing practices. 

Responsibilities 

  • Examine certified payroll statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and assess the effectiveness of internal controls over certified payroll reporting.
  • Verify the accuracy of certified payroll records and transactions by conducting detailed audits.
  • Identify discrepancies, irregularities, and potential areas of risk within certified payroll documents.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and standards in all certified payroll operations.
  • Stay updated on changes in certified payroll regulations and best practices to maintain compliance.
  • Prepare reports on audit findings and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and external auditors as necessary.
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls and processes.
  • Recommend enhancements to internal control systems to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and assess the implementation of corrective actions based on audit findings.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that identified issues have been resolved.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Communicate audit results to management and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of audit activities and findings.
  • Identify and assess potential risks that could impact certified payroll operations.
  • Assist in developing strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate risk factors to ensure proactive risk management.
  • Share client feedback and insights with internal teams to drive service improvements.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and strategy sessions to align team goals and objectives.

Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution 

  • Proactively identify and address any issues or challenges faced by clients.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues to maintain client satisfaction and trust.
  • Act as a mediator in conflicts between clients and internal teams, ensuring a fair and satisfactory resolution for all parties.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in difficult situations, demonstrating strong conflict resolution skills.

Professional Development and Continuous Improvement

Qualifications 

  • You have a stable ‘at home’ work environment with dedicated office and/or noise free space and sufficient internet connection to accomplish online work, video, and phone calls
  • Knowledge of state/federal prevailing wage requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in account management or a similar role
  • Strong team skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of managing and growing key accounts.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
