Job Summary

We are seeking a Systems Administrator – Journeyman to support the sustainment and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on system maintenance, patching, and performance tuning while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Linux/Windows systems, cloud platforms, and secure system administration practices in a mission-critical environment.

Specific Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the integrity of operating systems and infrastructure across development and production environments
• Perform system maintenance tasks including backups, patching, and recovery to ensure uptime and performance
• Install, configure, and test system software and hardware components
• Support cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure operations, including OCI and AWS environments
• Document system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures
• Collaborate with help desk, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to ensure secure and compliant operations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 4–6 years of experience in systems administration or enterprise IT support
• IAT/IAM Level I certification (e.g., A+, Network+, or equivalent)
• Experience maintaining and supporting Linux and/or Windows operating systems in enterprise environments
• Proficiency in system backup, recovery, patching, and performance tuning
• Experience with system software installation, upgrades, and configuration management
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Azure
• Ability to document system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and change logs
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
• Experience supporting secure federal or defense-related IT environments
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Oracle VM) and containerization (e.g., Docker)
• Knowledge of STIGs, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity compliance
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
• Exposure to capacity planning, system monitoring, and performance optimization
• Experience supporting interface management and data integrity in integrated systems

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Must be able to work in a secure federal environment
• Standard office environment with computer workstation
• Ability to work day shift hours
• Ability to work on-site at Quantico, VA location
• Occasional physical handling of hardware components and server equipment
