POSITION PURPOSE

This position directs and supervises Nursing Services during assigned shift. The clinical nursing supervisor coordinates the delivery of care rendered by nursing staff and other hospital departments. This position also functions as an administrative representative in the absence of the CNO and is responsible for the operational aspects of the medical center while on duty with responsibility to interpret risk management issues and ensures compliance with current medical center policies and procedures. This position requires participation in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs. The clinical nursing supervisor assists in training nursing personnel and provides input in job evaluations and performance analysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or graduate of accredited college or university with a degree as a registered nurse. ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.

2. Current State of Florida licensed as a professional registered nurse.

3. A minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in an acute care setting preferred with at least three

4. (3) years of progressive charge or supervisory responsibilities preferred. If less than five years' experience or in absence of supervisor experience, candidate will be monitored and successfully complete a competency and orientation.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical knowledge and skills pertaining to patient care areas when in staff nurse role.

6. Demonstrated computer skills to include proficiency in the use of an electronic health record, CPSI preferred.

7. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required. Certifications are only accepted from The American Heart Association.

8. Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task while working In a high-volume work environment required.
