JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records. This role supports the monthly close process, maintains general ledger accounts, and assists with financial reporting activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), organizational policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.


Experience

Minimum: At least one year of accounting experience in a corporate, healthcare, or professional services environment. Basic working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Preferred: Experience in a healthcare, medical group, MSO, or multi-entity environment. Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations. Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Oracle, or similar).


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

· Effective organizational and time-management skills.

· Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.

· Understanding of internal controls and basic audit requirements.

· Knowledge of healthcare finance concepts (preferred).

· Ability to follow established accounting procedures and meet deadlines.

· Ability to analyze account variances and resolve discrepancies.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

     

PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical   demands described here are represented by those that must be met by an   employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. There   will be prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. Frequent use of hands and fingers to   operate a computer, keyboard, and office equipment. While performing the   duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to walk, stand,   bend, lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Ability to work extended hours during   peak periods or audit timelines, as needed. Requires visual acuity to review financial   data and reports.
