About the Role:
The Volunteer Services Coordinator
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Volunteer Services Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring our Food Bank's volunteer programs run smoothly and effectively. You will welcome volunteers on-site, coordinate daily activities, manage volunteer schedules, and support recruitment efforts. You will also assist in planning and running special events, helping to create meaningful experiences for volunteers while ensuring the community receives vital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet volunteers on-site and provide orientation for daily activities
- Prepare rooms and workspaces with necessary supplies for volunteer shifts
- Recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteers for daily operations and special events
- Prepare and send important communications, including volunteer announcements, reminders and updates
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and track hours using CERVIS Volunteer Management Software
- Assist in planning and executing volunteer-driven events
- Support volunteers during activities, providing guidance and ensuring safety procedures are followed
- Track and report on volunteer attendance, engagement, and impact
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience coordinating volunteers, events, or customer-facing programs preferred
- Comfortable preparing clear and timely communications for groups of volunteers
- Experience using CERVIS Volunteer Management Software or similar systems preferred
- Friendly, approachable, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
Schedule
Schedule: On-site during regular operations, with occasional evenings and weekends for events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $19.00+ per hour, commensurate with experience
