About this position

Job Summary: The Maintenance and Lot Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and orderly appearance of the dealership’s vehicle inventory, lot areas, facilities, and surrounding grounds. This role supports operations across sales, service, and customer delivery functions by performing vehicle movement, cleaning, basic maintenance, lot organization, and custodial tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move, park, and organize vehicles in the lot according to dealership standards and space optimization. 
  • Move vehicles between service, reconditioning, and sales areas as directed. 
  • Sweep and remove debris, trash, and snow/ice from lot areas to maintain safety and presentation. 
  • Maintain facility grounds including sidewalks, entrances, trash receptacles, and common exterior areas. 
  • Perform general custodial tasks: empty trash, clean work areas, restrooms, surfaces, and equipment. 
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs for replenishment. 
  • Assist with routine facility maintenance tasks.
  • Support shop clean-up and assist technicians as needed for spills or waste removal. 
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures, including proper use of tools and equipment. 
  • Provide excellent internal support to sales, service, and lot teams. 
  • Maintain high ethical standards and represent the dealership professionally at all times.
  • Adhere to attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping expectations.
  • Complete all required training, certifications, and compliance courses on time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support dealership operations.

 

Work Schedule and Location:

  • Full Time, minimum 40 hours per week. May include weekends and holidays. Schedule maintained and approved by Service Managers.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Standing and walking for extended periods. 
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Moving around the dealership lot in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and precipitation when outdoors.
  • Ability to navigate multiple levels of the dealership, including offices, showroom, service areas, and storage areas, which may require stair access.
  • Lifting and carrying promotional materials and other items as needed.
  • Must be able to stoop or kneel.
  • Operating a computer and other office equipment for administrative tasks.
  • Must be able to type and use technical sources, see well enough to read paperwork and computer screen, hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.

  • Ability to retain knowledge of product lines, incentives, inventory, dealership policies, and customer history.
  • Must be able to navigate CRM systems, DMS platforms, digital retail tools, and reporting dashboards.
  • Ability to process and simplify complex data for actionable decision-making. 
  • Ensure accuracy in reports, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present data and strategies effectively to various audiences.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
