Position Summary:
We’re seeking a Full-Time Fleet Mechanic to join our Transportation Maintenance Department. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and safety issues in tractor-trailer equipment to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain tractor-trailer systems (brakes, electrical, suspension, refrigeration, etc.)
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance
- Complete documentation on repairs and parts used
- Respond to road breakdowns as needed
- Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Communicate effectively with team and management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1–3 years of diesel mechanic or heavy truck repair experience preferred
- Brake and refrigeration certifications a plus
- CDL a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures
- Strong attention to safety, detail, and environmental compliance
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and use of hands. Must be able to lift/move 75 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
Work Environment:
This role involves working both inside and outside the shop in a variety of weather conditions.
