OBJECTIVE / ACCOUNTABILITY
To drive inventory accuracy and operational excellence across assigned warehouses (60% NG, 40% SC) by collecting, auditing, and processing critical inventory data—supporting seamless collaboration between production, sales, and administrative teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management:
- Coordinate and Perform Cycle and Spot counts regularly and make necessary transactions in Business Central (BC) to ensure accurate quantities by Item Number
- Review and update plant bin quantities in nursery
- Input Loss Reports and Change of Bin Reports into BC
- Monitor crops and make transactions to ensure appropriate plant status
- Input and maintain plant notes based on seasonally appropriate plant characteristics
Quality and Salability:
- Audit grow crops for salability based on company quality standards within two weeks prior to ready date expiration
- Monitor crops in selling based on company quality standards and change to appropriate status as needed
- Communicate with Sales regarding changes in salable quantities that affect Dated Sales Orders
- Provide photos upon request
- Provide communication bridge between Sales and Production
Order Fulfillment and Distribution Responsibilities:
- Maintain Pulling Bins in BC with accurate Bin Ranking status
- Assist Pullers with inventory discrepancies during pulling
- Monitor and update plant height information in BC
- Assist Growers in coordinating Sales Orders and Transfer Orders
- Communicate inventory quantity and quality issues to Sales, Operations, and Production
Production Support:
- Provide feedback to Growers on field observations including mixed crops, cultural issues, pests, etc.
- Regroup regularly with Department Growers
- Identify areas for crop consolidation and inventory clean up to the Growers
Department Support:
- Bring issues to the Inventory Manager and Nursery Manager’s attention
- Attend inventory department and Department Grower meetings
- Assist in the development of new processes
- Cross train as needed
- Perform other tasks as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends during peak season
- Responsible for inventory-related transactions in BC (including shipping, transfers, and plant quality documentation)
- Maintain accurate inventory records
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCES
- Associate’s degree in Horticulture or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of inventory control experience
- 1–2 years of manufacturing or production-related experience
- Horticulture or similar industry experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with sales and production teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Solid mathematical aptitude
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is Preferred
