The Residential Program Manager has the responsibilities of a case management and group home management functions. The case management function will support no more than 20 clients. This position assists in the supervision of staff and clients ensuring a safe, trauma-informed environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops, maintains, supervises, and evaluates a normative program that is safe and secure in which clients can learn cognitively, behaviorally, and emotionally.
- Through interaction and observation of staff and clients, provides supervisions, role modeling, teaching, instruction, and support working directly with staff and clients.
- Recommends and supports staff with creative, helpful tools for client’s management and program improvements.
- Assures that schedules are followed and activities are conducted consistently.
- Directs procedures to staff in times of crisis.
- Responsible in assisting the hiring process with Human Resources (HR) for facility staff.
- Ensures staff are current with all training and certifications needed for their position.
- Documents general and specific performance of all Group Living Staff pertaining to the group home.
- Provides additional review of paperwork that is generated to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and communicated to all vital departments.
- Reviews and handles all clients’ grievances pertaining to their assigned facility.
- Ensures that the monthly recreation calendar for clients is posted in a conspicuous area for all to see.
- Responsible for communication with client’s teams to ensure timely updates are conducted regarding the client’s progress or regress.
- Generates purchase orders for facility and facility supply needs.
Case Management Functions:
- Coordinate client admit/intake with admissions.
- Notify internal and external teams of client intake within 24 hours.
- Update client demographics page in the EMR system
- Document all collateral contacts in client chart.
- Schedule client appointments as needed; request follow up documentation; Psych notes, Dr. summaries, etc.
- Arrange and/or provide transportation for client appointments, preferably with client.
- Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate ART meetings and professional staffing as requested
- Maintain an updated list of client discharge plans.
- Maintain an updated list of client ART meetings; share with Utilization Review Staff and BHAZ teams.
- Check voicemail and emails daily and follow up within one business day.
- Notify external teams of client discharge. (Internal notified by Admissions Department)
- Participate in team meetings weekly.
- Complete all assigned trainings: in person and online training platforms
- Ensures all client authorizations are completed and uploaded into the EMR system by staff at intake and are updated annually.
- Demonstrate effective and respectful communications with clients, staff and stakeholders.
- Adhere to Brighter Heights Arizona policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Uphold the philosophy of the Sanctuary Model by embodying the seven commitments and fostering a safe, supportive, trauma responsive environment.
- Adhere to all written policies and procedures of Brighter Heights Arizona (BHAZ)
- · Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
** Any duty that can be seen as skills development should include client participation when possible. (Health-care appointment scheduling, etc.)

- Possess a Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field in behavioral health with at least one year of full-time case management work experience, and at least two (2) years of supervisory work experience; or
- Possess a Master’s or Bachelor Degree in an unrelated field and at least one year of full-time case management work experience in behavioral healthcare, and at least two (2) years of supervisory work experience; or
- Possess a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and four years of full-time case management work experience in behavioral healthcare, and at least two (2) years of supervisory work experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain the Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must pass a TB test
- Individual judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills
- Confidentiality and professionalism are essential
