About this position
INTRODUCTION
1.1 The purpose of this standard procedure is to outline the duties, responsibilities, authority, reporting relationships, and measures of performance for the position of Custodian
2.0 BASIC FUNCTION
2.1 The basic function of a Custodian is to perform all aspects of custodial duties with a quality standard as specified by the Vice President of Adult Services.
3.0 REQUIREMENTS:
- 3.1 Education:
- Required: GED
- Preferred: High School Graduate.
- 3.2 Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- 3.3 Skill, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to meet performance and quality expectations of the custodial program. The ability to work with people with disabilities and provide a good conduct role model for workers.
- 3.4 Physical:
Ability to physically perform and maintain custodial operations, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods of time, and being active throughout the work day.
- 3.5 Mental:
- Should have basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Should have the ability to effectively listen and communicate with supervisors, participants, and co-workers.
- 3.6 Working Conditions:
Job sites, indoor and outdoor requirements. Approximately 10% sitting and 90% standing.
4.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
4.1 The Custodian will report directly to the Vice President of Adult Services.
5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 To maintain an effective and efficient operation in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in regards to their assigned contracts.
6.2 To maintain a consistent work pace, and a cooperative attitude and tolerance level in relation to co-workers.
6.4 Ensure a safe work environment.
6.5 To understand the quality control standards and ensure that those standards are adhered to.
6.6 Support and enforce all company policies and procedures.
6.7 Maintain open communication with the Vice President of Adult Services, and all other employees.
6.8 To set a positive example in behavior, actions and hygiene for the custodial program and its participants.
6.9 Recommend to the VP of Adult Services the purchase of required capital equipment while maintaining cost effectiveness.
6.10 Preserve and maintain the physical assets of the company by following the established security controls.
- 6.11 Maintain appropriate attendance, performance and quality standards.
6.12 To report to VP of Adult Services any significant change or problems
concerning fellow workers or Individuals.
6.13 Other duties as assigned.
6.0 PRINCIPAL DUTIES
7.1 Ensure timely and quality completion of assigned duties.
7.2 Work with management to ensure company policy is followed.
7.3 Control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
