Valmeyer Forklift Operator
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for moving raw and finished goods throughout the warehouse. This position requires sit-down and stand-up forklift experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process customer orders with sit-down, stand-up forklift and tandem pallet jack.
- Pick and stage products in inventory based on product and prevents damage to products.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping.
- Maintain a safe work environment, following company policy and procedures.
Machinery:
- Sit-down 3-wheel forklift, tandem pallet jack, cascade 4-wheel sit-down forklift, stand-up reach truck.
Physical Requirements: (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facility.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently.
Work Environment:
- Temperature: Freezer areas are zero degrees or colder, with wind chills of -10 degrees. The dock is maintained at approximately 34 degrees.
- Noise: Forklift alarms and circulatory fans throughout the facility.
Work Hours:
- Normal shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00AM- 2:30PM.
- Hours and days may fluctuate depending on need.
- Must be available to work flexible hours Monday through Sunday including overtime.
Requirements
Qualifications /Other Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience with a sit-down and stand-up forklift.
- Must be able to read orders for picking and staging of products.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
