About this position

Objective/Job Purpose:

Responsible for Design, Scheduling, Tracking, and on time completion of multiple Defense and Aerospace programs

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Interact with the customer to define project requirements and update project status.
  • Support RFQ responses, including supplier support and interaction for quotes.
  • Ability to review customer and internal drawings and designs based on customer supplied designs/specifications and existing legacy designs using AutoCAD and Inventor software.
  • Experience creating 3D CAD models in Inventor.
  • Schedule and track multiple programs for successful on time, on budget launch using Dynamic APQP process.
  • Create and maintain process control drawings and inspection plans.
  • Coordinate, communicate and engage with customers, including government direct (Defense Logistics Agency, TACOM) and other Defense and Aerospace customers.
  • Research, understand, and apply customer specifications and regulations pertaining to the product.
  • Conduct Launch Reviews, perform internal and external progress follow up. Define and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist Quality by providing supporting documentation to achieve on-time FAI and PPAP submissions.
  • Perform light design for Locating and Gaging fixtures, Assembly fixtures, Forming tools, and Machining fixtures.
  • Obtain quotes and conduct design reviews for tooling and fixturing. Coordinate internal and external tooling build/purchases.
  • Maintain, recommend, and improve project planning activities and capabilities.
  • Perform hands-on development of first article parts and processes.
  • Provide Engineering support to manufacturing for internal part fabrication and assembly. Troubleshoot fabrication processes-Welding, press brake forming, and CNC machining operations. Troubleshooting Roll Mill fabrication, a plus.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • AutoCAD/Inventor experience required. 
  • 3-5 years’ Experience in Product engineering and/or Manufacturing engineering and/or Program Management with On Time Delivery Track Record.
  • Experience with metal fabrication including press brake, laser, and welding.
  • Experience with Roll Forming is a plus.
  • Experience with Epicor ERP systems desired.
