 B Shift Schedule:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday as required

Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

We are seeking qualified candidates for Assist Operator positions on our B Shift team. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong teamwork, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide feedback and direction within the scope of the role. Meets the job requirements noted below. 


SUMMARY

Assists in the setup and operation of a production line by following directions of Lead Operator and by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  1. Operate the assigned production line and associated production equipment to ensure customer requirements are met.
  2. Monitors card and cross lapper, bale feeders, vibra-feeds, conveyors, oven and guillotine. 
  3. Performs blend checks, makes minor process adjustments. Assists in performing preventive maintenance on equipment.
  4. Performs visual inspection of fiber and finished rolls. Assists in start up operations. 
  5. Offloads and weighs finished rolls. Wraps and packages product. Disposes of product waste.   
  6. Uses work documents such as but not limited to; work instructions, work orders, safety processes,  for loading of raw materials, labeling, packaging, inspection, and removal of process waste.
  7. Maintains equipment by performing and documenting selected maintenance of production line and associated equipment.  
  8. Complies with all safety rules and requirements and refers any unresolved safety issues to the Shift Supervisor.
  9. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping and workplace organization.
  10. Ensures proper control, accounting, reporting, and preservation of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and practices.
  11. May provides training assistance.  
Requirements:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  2. High School diploma or GED
  3. Strongly prefer 4 years in manufacturing as operating machine equipment successfully
  4. Understands Feeds, Speeds, LOTO Etc.

Math  Count, Add, Subtract, Multiply, Division, Percentages, Fractions. Read and Interpret Tape Measure. Strong Attention to detail

Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and fractions. Ability to read and interpret charts used for process control.

Communication:  Good oral and written skills.  Read & understand manufacturing processes, procedures, safety process and protocols.  

Computer Skills:  2-3 years operating various production software programs to perform equipment setup and make data entries. Prefer knowledge of MS Office products. 

Reasoning:  Read & interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Regular use of  hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. 
  2. Long hours standing.  Walk, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  3. Regularly lifts and/or move up to 50 pounds. (Team lift) 
  4. Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. 
  5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close & color vision. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Moderate noise level.
  2. Excessive heat and vibration during seasonal months
  3. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
