About this position
Job Summary:
To perform or assist in the loading or unloading of all outgoing or incoming paper rolls, supplies, equipment, along with printed materials, if required.
Essential Job Functions:
· Performs daily Safety and Maintenance inspections on all forklifts, clamp trucks before use.
· Loads and unloads supplies in an efficient safe manner.
· Continually organizing roll stock area, waste area, supply room, and roll stock area to create maximum amount of space on production floor.
· Operates forklifts, roll clamps and pallet jacks in a safe and non-destructive manner.
· Verify and issue of Butt Rolls for specific roll sizes and basis weight.
· Performs in paper trimming, and pressroom tasks when instructed.
· Assists when needed in the banding of skids and preparations for loading.
· Works with all customers and fellow co-workers in a professional, cooperative and respectful manner.
· Maintains a daily inventory of all paper stock and assists in a monthly inventory.
· Has a working knowledge of paper by type of stock, manufactures name and size.
· Maintains a secure work area by making sure all overhead dock doors are locked and closed when not in use.
· Controls waste (spoils) inventory, Roll Damage in line with Pressroom objectives.
· Learn and operate paper rewinder/slitter.
· Performs other duties as requested by Pressroom management.
Desired Qualifications/Competencies:
· English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language in order to understand requirements when building loads, and creating load tickets and etc.
· Ability to operate a Hand-Jack, Pallet Load Shrink wrapper, forklift, and Clamp Truck along with other Warehouse related tools and equipment, OR the ability to be trained on same.
Technology- Software Skills Preferred:
· Monarch as per required use in Warehouse/Shipping activities.
· PC and the various MS Office software especially Outreach/email, Word and possibly Excel, used from time to time, by pressroom persons from time to time.
Physical Demands:
· The physical demands are typical for an industrial manufacturing setting, with some dust, moving hand jacks and some lift trucks.
· Loading and un-loading of rolls (up to 50-100lbs consistently)
· Similar conditions as per a Print Manufacturing setting.
