About this position
General Responsibilities
The Retail Account Specialist is responsible for executing retail standards across chain and independent accounts including Safeway, Fred Meyer, QFC, Total Wine, Target, Walmart, and WinCo. This includes ensuring products are stocked, priced correctly, properly merchandised, rotated, and supported with appropriate POS materials.
Essential Functions
Retail Execution & Merchandising
· Visit chain retail accounts on a scheduled basis (Safeway, Fred Meyer, QFC, Total Wine, Target, Walmart, WinCo).
· Ensure shelves are fully stocked, properly faced, clean, and organized.
· Work backstock and rotate inventory for freshness compliance.
· Ensure correct pricing and shelf placement according to each chain’s planogram standards.
· Install and maintain POS/signage following chain-specific guidelines.
· Build and maintain displays following approval processes for each chain.
· Support chain reset teams and seasonal merchandising directives.
Account Service & Communication
· Maintain strong communication with store directors, department managers, and key decision-makers.
· Communicate store-specific opportunities (e.g., endcaps, shippers, feature displays).
· Ensure compliance with chain standards for alcohol merchandising and age-restricted products.
· Complete documentation and submit reports promptly.
Sales Support
· Call on current accounts weekly and support order entry where allowed (varies by chain).
· Introduce new products, promotions, and pricing updates.
· Meet monthly with chain sales team
· Maintain acceptable performance against monthly/quarterly/annual goals.
· Expand product knowledge and maintain supplier familiarity.
Technology & CRM
· Use CRM to record store updates, staff changes, and opportunities (Encompass).
Use mobile tools for chain-specific compliance (photos, surveys, logs).
Compensation
Total compensation $55,000-$75,000 (includes base plus commission). In addition, this role is eligible for monthly supplier incentives and quarterly/annual performance bonuses. This is an outside sales position. As such it is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Washington Minimum Wage Act (WMWA). By applying, you acknowledge that your primary duty involves making sales and obtaining orders while customarily and regularly working away from the company’s place of business. This role includes a vehicle reimbursement based on the size of the assigned territory as well as a cell phone reimbursement of $75 per month.

· This position starts at 80 hours of paid vacation per year. Our tiered accrual schedule increases based on seniority, capping at 160 hours after six years of service.

Requirements:
Skills & Qualifications
· 21+ years old with valid driver’s license, clean driving record, insured personal vehicle.
· Professional communication and strong retail service mindset.
· Able to represent Vehrs professionally in large-format chains and premium retailers.
· Problem-solving, adaptability, and strong organization.
· Competent with mobile devices, email, and basic computer applications.
· Ability to adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and warehouse safety standards of various retailers.
· Ability to obtain a Washington Agent’s License.
Physical Requirements
· Able to stand and walk for long periods across large-format stores.
· Able to bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders for shelf access.
· Able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds (cases, displays, POS).
· Able to work in various environments, including refrigerated coolers and outdoor loading docks.
Education Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Wine/beer/beverage knowledge preferred.
