Experience Design Summer Intern

Objectives:

Here at Advent, we expect our interns to always be doing 1 of 2 things: learning a new skill or designing for client(s). This means that we are equally committed to providing personalized mentorship and hands-on design work to each of our interns.

All interns are expected to help out where asked, but we value the inspiration they bring to our team, and welcome their contributions through design work and in meetings. During a design internship, our interns gain exposure to a wide variety of brands from our portfolio, and are given meaningful opportunities to contribute to the creative output on many of our active projects. 

Our best interns are curious, driven and highly creative; they ask good questions, learn from their mistakes, and aren’t afraid to speak up with a wild card idea.

Program Highlights:

Every job has its pro’s and con’s. While we feel that the opportunities and awesomeness of the internship far outweigh the negatives, we want you to know what you’re getting into! 

Our interns each have the opportunity to:

• Assist with some discovery, including sitting in on client interviews and performing relevant research prior to conceptual design. 
• Assist with the development of audience journey maps, inspiration/mood boards, story maps and/or other design narrative collateral that capture the creative vision.
• Design and develop new concepts that solve client problems and capture powerful storytelling through graphics, form, material and space.
• Sit in on creative presentations and other relevant client-facing meetings.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to gain understanding of the entire life cycle of a project. 
• Experience working within a face-paced environment, with exposure to a wide variety of brands and projects from across our portfolio.

Yes, our internships are paid at a competitive hourly rate.

Is an internship a full time position?

Yes, our internships are up to 40 hours a week.

Is the internship in-person or virtual?

Our internships are In-person, at our Nashville HQ office. 

When are the internships for this year?

For Summer of 2026, our internships typically begin June 1, 2026 and end August 14, 2026, for a total duration of 10 weeks.
