About this position

Summary: The Director, Contracts and Proposals provides governance over proposal generation, pricing-to-contract alignment, and lifecycle risk control across CSS opportunities. The role oversees proposal operations, standardizes templates and margin validation processes, ensures contractual accuracy, and monitors amendments through execution. The Director reduces cycle time from pricing to execution and prevents financial leakage as study complexity and volume increase.

This role establishes scalable processes that ensure proposals are operationally executable, financially aligned, and contractually defensible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Oversees proposal development workflow from pricing through contract execution

· Establishes and maintains standardized proposal templates and documentation requirements

· Ensures alignment between approved pricing and contractual terms

· Implements and enforces margin verification checkpoints prior to submission and execution

· Reviews contractual language for operational and financial risk exposure

· Tracks contract amendments and evaluates downstream financial impact

· Partners with Business Development, Legal, Finance, and Operations to resolve discrepancies

· Identifies bottlenecks and improves proposal cycle time and approval processes

· Establishes governance procedures for proposal review and approval workflows

· Maintains audit-ready documentation supporting deal assumptions and approvals

· Develops reporting related to proposal timelines, amendments, and execution metrics

· Supports scalable growth through standardized contracting and proposal practices

· Occasional travel to Company meetings and conferences as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, or related field preferred)

· 8+ years of experience in clinical research proposals, contracts, or commercial operations

· Experience reviewing or negotiating vendor, CRO, or sponsor agreements strongly preferred

· Experience developing operational processes or governance frameworks preferred

Physical Requirements and/or environmental factors:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift 20 pounds at a time.

· Travel to sponsor required meetings as needed.

$150000.0 - $180000.0 Annual Salary
