Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Private Tour Provider to offer a full-day guided excursion for cruise passengers visiting Florence. In this role, you will provide seamless transportation from the cruise port, conduct an engaging tour of Florence’s key attractions, arrange a comfortable lunch break, manage skip-the-line ticketing for major sites, and ensure a timely return to the cruise port. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for Florence’s art, history, and culture, combined with excellent driving and tour guiding skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cruise Port Transfers:
• Pick up guests promptly from the cruise port and ensure a safe, comfortable journey to the city.
• Manage group logistics and maintain communication with cruise staff and guests.
• Guided City Tour:
• Lead an immersive, informative tour of Florence, highlighting key points of interest such as the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, and other historic landmarks.
• Provide engaging commentary that covers historical context, cultural significance, and local anecdotes.
• Utilize skip-the-line tickets to minimize wait times at major attractions, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience for guests.
• Lunch Coordination:
• Schedule and coordinate a comfortable break for lunch at a well-recommended local restaurant, offering authentic Florentine cuisine.
• Ensure the lunch experience fits within the overall tour itinerary while accommodating any special dietary requests from guests.
• Ticketing & Administrative Duties:
• Procure and distribute skip-the-line tickets and other pre-booked admission items to guests.
• Manage any necessary permits or documents related to transportation and tourism services in Florence.
• Assist with collecting guest feedback and addressing any concerns during the tour.
• Return to Cruise Port:
• Ensure guests are returned to the cruise port in a timely manner, adhering to scheduled departure times.
• Provide assistance with luggage and any last-minute queries from guests.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a tour guide, driver, or similar role, preferably with a focus on historical or cultural tours.
• In-depth knowledge of Florences landmarks, history, art, and culture.
• Valid driving license and a clean driving record; experience with group transportation is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Italian or other languages is a bonus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage groups and adapt to guests’ needs.
• Familiarity with local regulations and requirements for tour operations in Florence.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on cruise schedules.
