Position Overview

Treeline Inc. is seeking qualified CDL drivers to haul bulk water between Poland Spring facilities using tractor-trailer tanker units. Drivers are responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading water while following all company policies, DOT regulations, and Poland Spring operational requirements.

This position supports Treeline’s expanding water hauling operations and plays an important role in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable deliveries between facilities.

Shift Schedule

Two shift starting times are available: 4:00 PM or 9:00 PM.
The standard work schedule runs Thursday night through Monday night, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.

Compensation

Hourly pay starts at $25.00 per hour, with $28.00 per hour paid for weekend shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

Drivers in this role are expected to operate equipment safely and represent Treeline professionally while working with plant personnel and other drivers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer tanker unit with a gross vehicle weight of up to 100,000 pounds
  • Load and unload bulk water at Poland Spring facilities
  • Follow all Poland Spring procedures for water handling and quality verification
  • Wear required personal protective equipment including hard hats, eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, hair nets, beard nets, and steel-toe boots
  • Place wheel chocks when parked during loading or unloading
  • Never walk underneath a tanker or step over fill hoses
  • Complete all required documentation related to loading, unloading, and water testing
  • Enter required information into plant systems when required
  • Maintain accurate electronic driver logs and comply with DOT Hours of Service regulations
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Report mechanical issues or defects promptly and ensure proper documentation
  • Maintain trucks and trailers in clean and safe operating condition
  • Follow company driving policies including the 65-mph company speed limit
  • Operate vehicles safely and respectfully in the communities where Treeline operates
  • Maintain professional communication with plant personnel, dispatch, and other drivers
  • Coordinate schedules and assignments with the Manager of Water Hauling
  • Follow all motor vehicle laws including seat belt use and distracted driving laws
  • Ensure paperwork and documentation are accurate and submitted on time

At the end of each shift, drivers are expected to remove personal belongings from the truck cab, wipe down commonly used surfaces, and leave the truck clean for the next driver.


Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Reading and writing skills sufficient to complete all required paperwork
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly when circumstances and plans change.
  • Ability to plan ahead, request parts needed in the near future and assist with scheduling conflicts.
  • Ability to pass Federal DOT drug and alcohol screen, DOT physical, pre-employment physical, and background check.
  • Ability to take orders, instructions, and guidance from management and supervisors.
  • Ability to deal with other employees in a diplomatic manner in a variety of stressful situations.

Qualifications, Education, Certificates:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid  Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
  • Tanker Endorsement (N)
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two or more years of tractor-trailer driving experience
  • Experience operating tanker equipment

Driving record requirements:

  • No preventable accidents within the past 24 months
  • No more than two moving violations within the past 36 months
  • No reckless driving convictions within the past five years
  • No drug or alcohol-related driving offenses within the past five years

Drivers must maintain a driving record that meets federal, state, and company motor carrier requirements.


Physical Demands:

  • Approximately 75% of the work day is spent driving, so must have the ability to withstand prolonged periods in a sitting position driving a truck.
  • Ability to lift or lower objects weighing up to 75 pounds for short periods of time from the ground or above ground level.
  • Ability to move objects up to 75 pounds by pushing, pulling, or carrying distances up to 100 feet.
  • Ability to handle tire chains weighing 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs on trailer and tractor and at loading and unloading facilities.
  • Ability to twist, kneel, squat, and maneuver in sometimes confined quarters to connect valves, hoses, and fittings as required in loading and unloading.
  • Ability to maintain safe and efficient control of the vehicle at all times
  • Reach at or above shoulder height
  • Demonstrate visual and auditory acuity in order to safely operate the vehicle
  • Ability to determine colors and depth perception
  • Able to be exposed to periodic moderate to fairly loud noise, below 85db
  • The ability to climb in and out of the vehicle several times per day
  • The ability to work in all weather conditions
  • The ability to work in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit
  • The ability to wear OSHA-required PPE
