About Meraki:
Meraki Learning Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Specialist to join our team! Meraki provides a comprehensive early learning program designed to give each child the best start. We provide a high-quality, structured learning experience through our unique hybrid model that seamlessly blends the nurturing, creative environment of play-based learning with the evidence-based, systematic instruction of applied behavior analysis. We serve preschool students ages 2-6.
The Role:
As the Program Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring daily success of the program, including managing operations, curriculum oversight, staff supervision, and maintaining a positive, safe and engaging learning environment for children. You will support and assist the Director and will assume duties when the Director is not present. In alignment with the Meraki Model, this position requires conducting initial and ongoing assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, monitoring progress, training staff and communicating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Director in overseeing the daily flow of the program, including scheduling, facility management, and ensuring compliance with all licensing regulations
Handle administrative tasks such as enrollment, record-keeping, billing support, and management of program supplies
Act as the primary point of contact in the Director’s absence, making necessary decisions to maintain smooth program operations
Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing professional development of staff
Provide in-vivo coaching support and constructive feedback
Help manage staff scheduling, coverage and conflict resolution
Support staff with instructional practices, behavior management, and creating engaging learning environments
Maintain strong, positive and communicative relationships with enrolled families, addressing concerns and celebrating successes
Assist in marketing and outreach efforts
Facilitate effective communication between staff and parents
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, identifying areas of strength and growth within developmental domains
Developing individualized treatment plans with targeted outcomes across developmental domains
Support development of behavior plans and implementation of positive behavior supports
Minimum Qualifications:
One of the following educational qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent AND
12 units child development (child growth and development, human growth and development, child, family, and community, or child and family, program/curriculum)
3 units administration or staff relations
4 years teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable child care group program
Associates degree with major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development AND
3 units administration or staff relations
2 years teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable child care group program
Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development AND
3 units administration or staff relations
1 year teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable child care group program
Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Child Development Program Director Permit
16 hours of health and safety training, including pediatric CPR and first aid
Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with assessments
Experience developing and writing observable and measurable goals
Experience designing and developing a schedule of activities
Experience designing and developing a data collection system
Experience analyzing data and making decisions
Experience using positive behavior supports or knowledge of ABA principles
Experience in a classroom or comparable setting
Experience supervising staff
