Engineering Intern

Primary Function

The Engineering Intern’s primary function would be engineering drawings and design support for planned equipment upgrades and automation projects. This internship provides exposure to industrial systems and maintenance best practices while assisting experienced engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all Ampacet policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Solid modeling of building and equipment layouts
• Prepare technical information slides for presentation to management
• Participate in “Brainstorming” ideas for technical solutions to plant issues 

Learning Outcomes

During this internship, students will:

• Understand industrial safety protocols and equipment reliability concepts
• Proficient at 2d and 3d CAD 
• Proficient at Microsoft Suite-PowerPoint Especially
• Reverse design engineering of equipment parts
• Material flow diagramming 
• Technical presentations in front of engineering and management

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a technical, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance program 
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles
• Interest in pursuing a career in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment
• Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting
