Overview
The Grade 1 Machinist is an entry level, non-exempt position that reports to the Machine Shop Manager. The Machinist is responsible for manufacturing parts that meet or exceeds Charm Sciences standards. The standards include a high-level of precision on all piece parts manufactured within the machine shop.
The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $31.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors in accordance with applicable laws.
Essential Functions
• Operate all manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision after training.
• Keep accurate records of work performance, processes and procedures, order of operations, tooling used for specific features, setup methods.
• Learn and use all necessary measuring tools as instructed.
• Will use hand tools, as required after proper training to meet part specifications.
• Able to work from drawings, sketches, or verbal and written instructions.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
• HS Diploma, Technical Training Certificate or equivalent.
• Work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and available on some Saturdays as needed.
Preferred:
• Skilled with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• 1 to 3 years machining experience or combination of experience and technical school training.
• Some exposure with tooling, fixtures, and machine setups to achieve quality precision machined components.
Physical Requirements
• The person in this position must possess dexterity to manipulate parts being manufactured.
• The person in this position must be able to visually detect discrepancies / inspect machined parts
• A person in this position must be able to remain stationary for an extended length of time either at bench or desk
• The person in this position occasionally needs to move about the machine shop as well as access the main facility.
• Be in a production environment where the noise level is generally noisy.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when required
• Minimal supervision needed for running and checking production after training.
