We are seeking enthusiastic individuals for an entry-level trainee position. This role is designed to provide the foundational knowledge needed for a successful career in auto claims adjusting. Position Overview – Claims Adjuster Trainee:
To be oriented and trained as a new industry professional with the ability to analyze auto insurance claims and determine coverage, liability, and appropriate claim payments.
Responsibilities:
Training & Development
- Participation in structured on-the-job training activities under close supervision.
Claims Handling (Under Supervision)
- Adjusting auto liability and/or physical damage claims including collision, comprehensive, and property damage losses.
- Reviewing coverage, evaluating liability, and determining appropriate claim resolution.
- Handling low-severity claims while developing technical and investigative skills.
- Obtaining and reviewing police reports, statements, photos, estimates, and other documentation.
- Coordinating vehicle inspections, appraisals, and repairs as needed.
- Communicating claim status and next steps with insureds, claimants, repair facilities, and clients.
- Documenting claim files thoroughly and accurately, and properly coding claim activity.
Operational Support
- Assisting experienced adjusters and supervisors with higher complexity claims as assigned.
- Participating in rotational assignments to support departmental or office needs.
- Maintaining service standards and timely claim handling.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Customer Service
- Data Entry and documentation accuracy
- Basic understanding of insurance or claims concepts (preferred)
- Computer systems and recordkeeping programs (preferred)
- Prior auto claims, automotive, or insurance-related experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with vehicle damage, repair processes, or automotive terminology (a plus)
